Renewing Vows ~ Eberjey Bridal Lingerie

Last December my husband finally convinced me to replace my wedding band. I hadn’t worn it in some time because the simple gold band that I had purchased with him in Florence during our honeymoon (don’t ask) no longer fit comfortably. I am not a person of tradition and didn’t care to spend the money because, after 36 years of marriage, why does it matter? But one day in Cabo last December, he propelled me into a jewelry store “just for fun”. I decided to appease him and try on rings. Fast forward and I finally acquiesced. The most surprising thing: I actually love it, love wearing it; can’t explain it, but it just feels right. I also had the same pre-conceived notion about people who renew their wedding vows. I never saw the point. But here’s what I know now. It’s much more meaningful to celebrate a marriage that has endured with friends of substance than to make a big show of it before time has proven viability.
