The Little Bra Company bridal lingerie photographed by Stephanie Hynes for Lingerie BriefsThe Little Bra Company

In Part Two of our July Fashion Lingerie Editorial, Stephanie brings her camera indoors. In Part One, she shot her vision based on the illusions framed from natural light: the American impressionist painter Frederick Carl Frieseke was her inspiration.  These images, photographed in her studio, evoke clarity of light effused from the simplicity of their surroundings. The color white is both innocent and provocative.  In an artist’s hands, white takes many perspectives. Is white lingerie meant only for brides?  This has often been the perception in America. But in Europe, white has long been status quo for everyday basics and sensual fashion pieces. Do brides only wear white? Perhaps the touch of something blue answers the question.

Georgina Stretch silk long gown with Chantilly Lace in SML from NKiMode on Lingerie Briefs

Disruption, crossing borders, diversification, outside of the box: we’ve been talking about cultural upheaval for a couple of years now; on Lingerie Briefs as recently as this week’s fashion editorial. The market initially used the term ‘Athleisure’ because the trend began with casual loungewear. I dubbed it ‘Everywear’ as lingerie emerged in wardrobes and every facet of the intimate category seeped into the streets.

Paloma gimme the Night silk double georgette bias cut camisole from NKiMode on Lingerie Briefs

Now NK iMode has embraced this lifestyle trend labeling it ‘Livingwear’. I have followed this Vancouver based silk brand for over 10 years now, ever since their iconic Morgan chemise made waves in the Lingerie market. I wrote about them, not only Morgan, but also their bridal and plus size collections. They were always a market mainstay, not only for me, but countless retailers who recognized the value inherent in their collections. Then, for a while, they appeared to disappear from … ...Read more

NK iMode on Lingerie Briefs

I’m leaving Mexico this week, returning to NY, my kids and the market. Two very distinct Cabo scenes have come to mind in the past few days, probably because of my effort to actually go out for dinner and to the beach before I leave.  One of these spectacles is the number of wedding events that take place here and the other is the fascinating dichotomy of swimwear peppering the beaches. I’ll save the beach perspective for later this week. . . . .READ and SEE more here...Read more

Georgina Ivory bridal slip from NKiMode on Lingerie Briefs

I’m leaving Mexico this week, returning to NY, my kids and the market. Two very distinct Cabo scenes have come to mind in the past few days, probably because of my effort to actually go out for dinner and to the beach before I leave.  One of these spectacles is the number of wedding events that take place here and the other is the fascinating dichotomy of swimwear peppering the beaches. I’ll save the beach perspective for later this week. Today is all about Bridal Lingerie, and to be specific, NKiMode’s extensive range of styles for brides and their various wedding celebrations. Cabo is a destination wedding venue. I have witnessed the simplest ceremony on the beach and full out parties in resort hotels that could be the answer to any bride’s fantasies. I can do this because, in Mexico, the beaches are open everywhere to the public, even … ...Read more
