Once in awhile I discover a new product that I just think is really cool, so I break my “wait and see” rules, because as per Katharine Hepburn, why miss all the fun. I met entrepreneur Maureen Shara when I walked by her booth at Curve and was blindsided by her beautiful robes. They are so artfully conceived, a juxtaposition of color and print that combines to make a very strong merchandising statement; hard to do with just one style. The Pinky Robes are a testament to design integrity: silky soft cotton voile constructed with French seams and hand-made in Santa Barbara, California. But the real story is about the inspiration behind Maureen’s business, a close family member, Kevin (nicknamed “Pinky” as a child) who died of Cancer at the age of 44. A portion of each sale is donated to the cure, a concept precious to the Intimate Apparel Industry. Every retail business needs some eye candy to define its taste, especially when the treat is so easy to digest. I have no doubt that these robes, available in S-M-L, are a perfect gift for a woman who appreciates creative beauty and recognizes a jewel in the crown. Inquiries: Maureen@PinkyRobes.com
