This week I had a WOW market day. My friend and colleague Flora Backer (aka founder of Flora Nikrooz) invited me to preview her new brand, the Rya Collection, before she launches next week at Curve NY. The styles are all Flora at her creative best. She has ventured forth on her own because as she explained to me, she wanted total freedom to create out of the box elegance. Infusing her work with the trademark Flora bridal touch, these designs are unique, feminine, pretty, sleepwear anointed with just the right amount of lingerie drama. Developed and produced completely in her New York City atelier, they manage to combine glamour and value. Flora’s instincts and knowledge of the piece goods market is obvious. There is so much “bang for your buck” here, it’s hard to decide what to showcase. Ready for retail delivery in March, every buyer searching for some store charisma should see this line.
