The Ruban Noir SS20 collection, with its minimalist innovative style, looks like it came to us from the future. Well, the future with a bit of 90’s inspiration mixed-in, as you can see from a selection of vests, crop tops and biker shorts. But with its sleek no-frills silhouettes, metallic lame accents and graphic color contrast elements, we are undoubtedly seeing a brand that represents a modern world.
The brand’s designer, Stéphanie Weinich, designs for the “woman who questions the traditional codes of sensuality and smartly incorporates her masculine side.” Her designs have a sporty, effortless chic sensibility and can be dressed up as ready-to-wear, or simply worn as lingerie. In fact, bras are structured so they can be styled over a blouse…and it actually works (see example below). It seems that in general, the modern take on intimates is to have styles perform double duty as ready-to-wear, which is undoubtedly the case here.
So, after looking through the following images, do you see Ruban Noir in your lingerie wardrobe’s future?
