PJ Salvage Reimagines Flannel for a New World Order

By ELLEN LEWIS

Going somewhere? Possibly but highly doubtful in this new world order. Today, home is not only where the heart is. Its also where we are cocooning while we wait for Covid’s impact on our lives to dissipate . Comfort is foremost. Easy wardrobes that segue effortlessly from bed to computer, even to the grocery store are our ‘fashion priorities”

PJ Salvage staked a claim in the 24/7 loungewear channel long before this pandemic smothered the ready to wear business. The plethora of casual, soft, pliable fabrics engineered into contemporary collections with an unexpected twist has defined the brand. There are so many options that it has been a long time since I have focused on their core flannel collection, which in fact, started it all.

P.J. Salvage’s original concept of practical flannel pajamas anchored by amusing prints has, for Fall 2020, been reimagined into modern loungewear. Iconic prints (my favorite is the cowboy ) reappear layered over tops, coupled with jackets, supported by sneakers, and worn as simple separates. Reinventing traditional flannel and making it your own is legacy P.J. Salvage. (Check out the embroidered  cuffs). Combining fun, function, and foresight they have taken what is old and made it new again. And, so far, the response has proved that it works!
