Commando® Conquers Leggings

By ELLEN LEWIS

I love leggings. Even when they were not the item du jour, I wore leggings in lieu of jeans. I am not surprised that they have emerged in the current fashion environment as a major trend. Even as I read of their newfound popularity in The New York Times Home section last week, I had planned on highlighting Commando’s ‘command’ on them.  Commando was a pioneer in the category long before they surged at retail.  Personally, I have owned the faux leather version for several years.

The genius behind Commando’s leggings is founded in the brand’s entire fabric driven story. The constant research into high quality technically innovative materials has kept Commando on the forefront of intimate apparel fashion ever since the launch of their iconic underwear. They have been blurring the boundaries between inner and outer wear for as long as I have known them and are revered by the fashion press.

The legging story is typical of the Commando® methodology: identify opportunity, expand, and command. 30 different styles in 13 fabrics across 38 colors and patterns in sizes ranging from XS-3X position this collection as a one stop legging source. Classic, capri, jogger and flare shapes are designed in the finest neoprene, microfiber, faux leather, velvet, suede, sequin, patent, butter and more. Engineered with Commando’s patented internal waistband, they are machine washable luxury.
