The reason I am always drawn to the Clo Intimo brand is because of the stories behind each collection. Clo’s ability to use these tales to amplify best-selling styles from new perspectives exemplifies a merchandising acumen perfectly in sync with the current marketing trends.
This season, the design inspiration is founded in natures four elements: fire, earth, air and water. This narrative is particularly meaningful to me. These materials are tied closely to the zodiac which is prevalent in Tarot readings. In my youth, I studied the Tarot. I still own decks of cards, wrapped in silk scarves, and sequestered carefully in a quilted box. It is uncanny how each astrological sign adheres to one of these elements. Every member of my family, blood related or not, fits the description defined by their birthdate and the correlated element. I suspect, it is universally true.
The entire concept, clarified simply, describes the life forces that inform who we are as individuals. It is grounded in ancient Greek thought, Buddhism, and many Western philosophies. Carl Jung defined it as the four personality functions: feeling, thinking, intuition and sensation.
Understanding and accepting who we innately are is, in my opinion, the way to find peace of mind. In today’s difficult environment, the craving for comfort is paramount. Lingerie has a unique role in this endeavor. It is the closest thing to our bodies and our sense of wellbeing. Clo’s decision to channel this message is showcased below.
FIRE: Intuition and Action
(Aires, Leo, Sagittarius) bold, outgoing, dynamic, passionate, competitive, temperamental & impatient
EARTH: Substance and Stability
(Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) grounded, consistent, loyal, affinity to nature, realism, stubborn & rigid
AIR: Intelligence and Communication
(Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) Outgoing, adventurous, versatile, good natured, logical, indecisive
WATER: Emotion and Spirit
(Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) Intuitive, Mysterious, intense, emotional, sensitive, observant, aloof
