My first truly visceral encounter with sculpted perfection was when at the age of 19, I saw Michelangelo’s Moses at San Pietro in Vincoli, Italy near the Forum. I was having a bad day, lamenting about a boyfriend back home when I came upon this extraordinary sculpture confronting a level of artistic genius unbeknown to me before. My entire attitude changed, and my pursuit of art history became my primary focus.
“Michelangelo said “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”
Ever since that life-changing encounter with the artist’s extraordinary vision, figures emerging from stone, metal, clay and even fabric mesmerize me. This is why the Va Bien photo shoot at the studio of sculptor Simone Bodner Turner caught my eye. Ever in pursuit of creative merchandising, in this campaign, Études de Forme, Va Bien has drawn an intriguing parallel to the lines and curves emerging from a sculptor’s hands to the contours formed by quality lingerie and shapewear. Turning function into poetic expression is our passion at Lingerie Briefs. Developing solution intimates with quality intent is the Va Bien mission. There is a symbiosis here.
