Saeta Paris: French Lingerie at Its Finest

By ESTELLE PULESTON

The work of Soraya Ketabi, the founder and ‘business brains’ behind the brand, and Camille Fouillit, the designer and creative director, Saeta Paris is a high-end lingerie line committed to upholding French artistry and craftsmanship. What’s more, believing that women typically go for the most comfortable options in their wardrobe rather than the most beautiful, their intention was also to create a brand that meant you wouldn’t have to choose – you could enjoy elegance, sensuality and absolute comfort at once.

The Saeta Paris aesthetic is simple yet contemporary, with highly-wearable silhouettes made special through the use of gorgeous fabrics and stylish details such as their signature glitter straps. This is also a brand that pays careful attention to the full 360° view of its products, with backs that feature statement golden clasps, double straps, or even draped, gold-plated chains with hanging pearls – a look that’s simply crying out to be worn with a backless outfit!

“The story of Saeta Paris is set along the Silk Road,” explains Fouillit, “My main inspirations come from mashrabiya patterns, the colors of landscapes or spices, and the interplay of shadows and light. I like to combine tradition, history, and craftsmanship with modern, graphic cuts that enhance the female body.”

She works via a very instinctive process, sometimes beginning with a theme in mind but other times simply falling in love with a particular fabric, and then building up the collection around it. Without exception, those fabrics will be sourced locally. In fact, not only is the lingerie itself made in France, in a workshop that has existed since 1876, but all the materials are manufactured in France too: delicate Calais-Caudry laces of the finest quality, and supple silks that are woven in Lyon.

It’s all about championing these traditional craft industries that are so embedded in their country’s history. Indeed, as well as various material certifications such as Oeko-Tex and ECOCERT, their suppliers all carry the Living Heritage Company label – a prestigious certification awarded to recognize their exceptional skill and uncompromising artistry.

For Ketabi and Fouillit, the overarching goal is to always strive towards becoming a global reference in luxury French lingerie. To have the Saeta Paris name become synonymous with timeless design, French savoir-faire and, again, that perfect blend of sensuality and wearable comfort that has long been a hallmark of French lingerie design.

Saeta Paris lingerie and robes are priced from 110€-480€ (approximately $115-$515), less for accessories. The wired Leïla bra is available in US sizes 30C/32B to 36D/38C and kimonos are ‘one size’ designed to fit US 0-12; everything else comes in sizes XS-XL.
