I woke up this morning and checked my phone to see an impressive score of 84. I was awash with a sense of accomplishment and euphoria. Yesterday was a meager 71. I was also awash with ashwagandha but that’s the making of a new blog.
My Oura ring is my nightly companion that I rely on to let me know if I will be okay based on my sleep score. You may think it foolish, but I assure you the knowledge that I slept well is powerful.
Sleep is my respite from the “news”, the hate, the obliteration of the rule of law and of sanity. I need my sleep strength to fight back, I ain’t getting any younger. I used to be proud of getting by on a few hours’ sleep, that thought now horrifies me.
Which brings me to pajamas. Yes, fashionable, pretty and comfy are all the things we want in our pj’s but it’s really all about sleep. I want a pajama that is also a sleep aid!
On average I remove and replace my blanket over my body 3-4 times throughout the night. HUE’sSleep Well Modern Classic is one of the first pj’s to address this problem. The pieces are easy and infused with Temp Tech that keeps you cool when you’re hot and warm when you’re not. And they make the most comforting cozy socks.
Actual physical comfort in a pajama can be a simple as no waist elastics, no dig in straps, no bulky seams, no buttons, and just a whisper of fabric, SKIN’sCarissa night shirt is just that. It’s been a customer favorite for a few years and there is a reason for that…the 100% organic Pima cotton is perfection.
If you’ve never tried sleeping in silk, it is the coolest, sexiest, and most self care-ish way of sleeping. Silk sheets and pillowcases are all the rage so why not pj’s, Lunya’sWashable Silk styles are the easy-care solutions to luxury in bed?
And if pretty much nothing is what you like to sleep in, try a Hanky Panky Signature Lace thong or my personal favorite the girl short. When it’s a sultry spring night which I hope will be soon, this is the only thing I sleep in, TMI.
Because it’s Black History Month and just because I can, I am giving a shout out to Sleep Ova, a Black owned sleepwear brand. The name alone is worth the mention. Easy and simple and a little sexy, and in colors that complement the skin.
Thank you to Acorn, Britbox, knock out gummies, ashwagandha, Oura ring, meditation, comfy pjs, tea, yoga, murder mystery novels and family and friends for helping me get through these very trying times…. I promise to wake up soon.
