Based in the US, A DOMANI® is a sleepwear brand by Katya Eckert that’s founded on the idea that good sleep is absolutely fundamental to health, healing and general wellbeing and no one should have to put up with uncomfortable night sweats.
Its sleep pieces, which include a range of short and long nightgowns and pajama separates, are crafted from rigorously-tested, natural fiber-based fabrics that are highly breathable and help to regulate body temperature. But more than that, they’re also hypoallergenic, anti-microbial (meaning anti-odor), and free from toxic chemicals/dyes and other endocrine disruptors.

“I created A DOMANI® when postpartum night sweats completely ruined my sleep,” says Eckert, who ordered pajama after pajama without finding anything that helped, so eventually decided to create it herself. “Within 3 months of launching the company, my mother was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Chemo and radiation left her skin over-sensitized and her temperature dysregulated. The only thing that felt good on her skin was A DOMANI®. She wore it exclusively throughout her months of treatment and eventual hospice care.”
A DOMANI® sleepwear is also a sustainable choice. After sourcing over 650 fabric samples, Eckert finally found exactly what she was looking for with MicroTENCEL™. Used for the signature collection, it’s made from birch, pine, eucalyptus and beechwood in a closed-loop process that recycles 99% of water and solvents unlike generic bamboo viscose which can be highly polluting to manufacture. Double-knit for a thicker finish, the result is a smooth, soft-as-butter fabric with a premium weight and fluid drape, for sleepwear that feels cozy yet cool on the skin.
Dreaming of something lighter? The brand also just launched its Golden Hour collection, an alternative made from Tencel MicroModal and a touch of elastane, which is mercerized (a process that plumps the fiber for a smoother touch and more lustrous finish) and knit at a 44 gauge.
“I spent two years learning everything I could about fabric and yarn construction from the ground up. I got introductions to anyone that could teach me about fibers, from the inventor of Lycra to the former Head Designer of Spanx,” says Eckert, “There are only a small handful of machines in the world that are capable of knitting at a gauge this high. It allows us to use the lightest thread possible knit at an extremely high density, so the fabric literally feels like air.”
Recently, she has also been working on redeveloping the original, signature fabric at a slightly lighter weight. Whichever you end up choosing, you can expect it to be highly durable. This sleepwear was designed to be smooth and stay smooth, not pill as soon as you wash it.
