I am digging the cool weather and the beginnings of Fall; it has been a long time coming. What better way to begin the season of thanks and giving than with hosiery and socks. It is their season and it is time to splurge on the perfect wardrobe enhancers, when you cannot afford a new wardrobe, you can always spice it up with some of my favorite brands.
Gonna let you in a little industry gossip, not sure whether it’s true or not but insiders have been talking for a few years now about how Wolford unwittingly influenced a mega brand, and that that influence is instrumental in its success. I see the similarities, but I do not see the quality, Wolford quality is legendary and rightly so. I remember buying a pair of hose years ago and I was floored by how indestructible they were. At the recent Evolution show I saw the latest in bodysuits, they are magnificent, and they will not be easily copied!
I own a drawer full of Falke, I love Falke. Their Daily Climate control cotton tees and camis are beautifully made in gorgeous cotton. What is so great about Falke is their ability to make classic timeless basics in socks, underwear and even slippers. They last forever; they really do. Stems is luxury with a twist. They have an incredibly special look, they take motifs, special yarns, and special knit stitches and they make them modern, feminine, and wearable, no easy feat. I own the Diamond Crew Sock, and I love watching people’s heads zoom in on my ankles on the subway, it gives me joy.
I will end with Scandale, one of my favorite classic sexy, provocative, and always outlandish brands. The patent leather nipple covers do exactly what they are supposed to do, which is pretty much nothing but tempt. They have a Halloween collection with masks, capes, corsetry, and anything else you can think of that will scare your partner to death, but they will die with a smile on their face!
