Christmas is upon us and many of us are turning our thoughts away from work to our families and friends and to travels home. This is a time of hopeful expectation, reflection and nesting. I am just a bit melancholy as I remember the excitement and energy that permeated our household during this anticipatory week when my family was very young. Nothing is as magical as a child’s joy on Christmas morning and nothing changes our perspective of giving more, than the birth of a child. The holiday was just a bit more frantic then. Secret after bedtime outings to toy stores, late night wrapping marathons and preparation for Christmas dinner of 30 plus people while working over-time in a retail career contributed to an exhausted frenzy that somehow defined our holiday existence. I always looked forward to the aftermath of leftovers, old movies, kids hanging with their bounty and sleeping in. Staying home in my pajamas was my pre-Christmas fantasy.
I was 8 months pregnant with my first child during Christmas, but back then, the choice of loungewear was my husband’s sweats. Imagine how nice it would have been then, to be able to have owned a pair ofBelabumbum’s Maternity pajamas for my post-holiday repose. Even more enticing, I could have received them on Christmas day with a matchingBaby Bum Bum kimono set for my newborn. Aptly named Nest, this PJ set is fabricated in soft pink or blue pure cotton and is available in size S – XL. Constructed with a built in bra that accommodates the nursing mother, the cami top guarantees extra support. Known for its playful and feminine designs, this brand was born to nurture the needs of the modern maternal woman. Bring home a gift of comfort.
