Fleur’t & Fleur’t with Me

This weekend I will be crossing the perennial bridge between New York and my home in Cabo. The experience is always the same, no matter in which direction I am traveling.  Ensconced in my routine here in the northeast, I feel removed from my Mexican lifestyle. And even though it will be nice to escape the winter weather, it also means missing work events and leaving my kids. Shifting back … Read More

Katie Rogers original ballgown artwork on Lingerie Briefs

My first known encounter with Katie Roger’s artwork was at the Curve Lingerie show last February when I stopped by the Bedhead Pajamas booth to see what was new. I am always anxious to learn how Renee Claire (CEO and designer) has transformed a basic, luxury cotton pajama into a conversational icon. Her spring 2016 “Belle of the Ball” collection is a classic example of Renee’s intuitive eye for sophisticated whimsy.

Meet Lily. I fell in love with her when Peter Burke, owner and visionary entrepreneur of the 18 year old PJ Salvage brand showed me pictures of her schmoozing with models at a recent photo shoot. This week is the semiannual Curvexpo, the premiere Intimate Apparel show in North America. For those of you who attend, or even if you do not, the highlights of the design messages proffered by the market are critical for both merchandising and fashion vision. Certainly, I touched upon the 2015 Lingerie trends when I reported live from the Salon International de La Lingerie in Paris. However, certain points are particularly viable for the … Read More

All my life I have been a dog person.  Always had one living by my side; sometimes 3.  Cats on the other hand were an afterthought.  Somehow or another, the cats in my house were there because someone brought  a kitten home, promised to covet it for eternity and then, left the poor feline there to fend for herself in the grasp of a canine domicile.  Cats make very few demands, virtually disappearing into the … Read More

It’s not my style, but I am running late this week. I moved yesterday for the 4th time in the past 14 months, but that’s another story for another column.  This time I thought the process would be easy since we are less than one mile from our previous abode.  I figured I did not have to pack everything perfectly and could make mini trips leaving the big “stuff” for the movers.  But sometimes … Read More

Lately I have been spending time visiting a friend on the upper west side of Manhattan.  Her apartment is located just around the block from the sophisticated luxury chocolate shop, Jacque Torres.  I always stop in for a latte and to feast my fantasies on the rich selection of artful confections offered there.  I haven’t splurged yet, out of respect for Jenny Craig, but let’s face it, intent and reality often collide;  I am not … Read More
