We Spin Simplicity ~ Skin Lingerie

By ELLEN LEWIS

There are two types of beaches here in Cabo: crazy or calm. Medano, the famed seashore, is stacked with hotels, bars blasting music and hyper activity: jet skis, water taxis, massages, parasailing and hawkers selling Mexican paraphernalia. It boasts a spectacular view of the famed arches. It’s often crowded, noisy and bursting with energy. We go there a lot. It’s only a couple of miles from our home, social and full of tourists and very little beats the view. Then there are little seaside treasures like Viudas Beach, a small sandy enclosure braced between rocky embankments that is virtually empty (except during holidays). The absence of amenities pretty much keeps the population at bay. If you want simplicity, it is perfection.

And that it was a few days ago when I went there for a walk. It was, virtually empty. An out at sea storm had dislocated the shoreline.  I discovered several whole seashells (almost impossible to find in Cabo) floating at the water’s edge. It could have been a visual metaphor for the Skin Lingerie Collection and its founder, Susan Beischel. Essential underwear, light as air, skimming the body’s surface and soft as sea-spray is the byline of this superbly simple brand. Skin Lingerie is all about the luxury of being comfortable, the beauty of the unexpected detail and the way intimates whisper in a woman’s wardrobe.
