What does the word luxury really mean? This challenge was presented to me recently and so, I am picking up the gauntlet and focusing on the Lise Charmel brand and what separates their definition of luxury from other lingerie lines. In the fashion world, this concept is clarified by the difference between Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture. Lise Charmel is Haute Lingerie. (Check our March Spotlight, Lise Charmel Dresses the Runway.) This brand rises to another level of luxury. It is truly the difference between art and craft. One is exclusive, the other commercial.
Lise Charmel’s deliveries, 24 annually, are purposely aligned with the Haute Couture Fashion calendar. It is the brand’s intent to coordinate each collection to the global runway. To meet this standard of luxury, a very intensive design process ensues. Speed is not an option. Each group takes up to 4 months to develop as the creative team, based in the company’s French atelier, take every individual style from imagination to fruition. Nothing is compromised. Every embroidery, lace, and print are proprietary designs. Sourced in Italy, France, Switzerland, and Austria, they are the finest quality available. Leavers laces, multi-thread embroideries, stunning jewels are combined in a single garment. The level of detail and technical expertise is parallel to the artistry inherent in hand sewn lingerie. Perceived as works of art, discerning women invest in Lise Charmel to increase the value of their personal lingerie portfolios.
