For this Intimate Talks interview, I sat down with Jenette Goldstein—a former Hollywood actress known for her roles as Private Vasquez in the 1986 sci-fi horror film Aliens, Janelle Voight (John Connor’s foster mother) in Terminator 2, and the Irish mother in Titanic. (see interview video below)
Jenette spent most of her childhood in Los Angeles. Born to parents with a passion for the theater, she pursued her craft after high school by studying at London’s Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and later at New York’s Circle in the Square Theatre School. There, she mastered drama theory, physicality, dialects, and the classics. A standout student, Jenette competed in citywide drama competitions alongside rising stars such as Val Kilmer, Mare Winningham, Kevin Spacey, and Ginnoa Gershon.
After leaving her acting career behind, Jenette opened her first lingerie store, Jenette Bras, in 2009 in a then-run-down neighborhood of L.A. Today, she owns four flourishing stores—three in Los Angeles, California, and one in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jenette Bras, where “the alphabet starts at D,” specializes in bra fittings for fuller-busted women. The brand is known for its expert fitters, carefully curated inventory, and commitment to making women feel welcomed, understood, and cherished.
Jenette’s husband, Aaron Noble—a creative director and artist—is the visionary behind the stores’ theatrical interiors. The spaces are decorated with murals and inspired by old corset factories, where the curves of corsetry contrast with the clean lines of industrial windowpanes. Notably, there are no chandeliers—a common boudoir accessory—underscoring the founders’ belief that “bras are serious business.”

Each store includes a common lounge space just outside the private fitting rooms. According to Jenette, this is where women “normalize their bodies”—encouraging one another, exchanging compliments, and practicing compassion.
Over its 16-year history, like any business, Jenette Bras has experienced its share of ups and downs: expanding to new locations, learning what worked (and what didn’t), shifting away from e-commerce, training ever-evolving teams, surviving a global pandemic, and nurturing a loyal, dedicated clientele.
