‘Fury to Live’ is Louisa Bracq’s Spring 2021 call to arms. Echoing the 1980’s NYC high-life, the brand looks back on the counterculture celebrities of that era and the high life they proffered for a generation rejecting the struggles of their own past. For women, it was the ongoing quest to define themselves. Louisa Bracq’s Camo collection, inspired by the fashion doyenne Diane von Furstenberg, is a direct reference to the iconic wrap dress, her trademark creation. This figure-hugging dress became a cult item worn by thousands of women craving the charismatic prints that defined it. In the late 1970’s when I was a dress buyer for Abraham & Straus (now Macys), this style filled an entire wall of the sales floor. The animal print was my best-seller.
The Camo Collection, true to the graphic artistry of the Louisa Bracq design aesthetic, reinterprets the famed DVF leopard print with an eclectic color mix of blues, white and apple green. Combined with the brand’s heritage embroidery signature, this nine-piece collection includes four bras ranging in sizes 30-44, B-H cups as well as panties available from XXS-6XL. A coordinating satin blouse is meant to be worn with the bra. After all, the Louisa Bracq woman is willing to bare her assets.
