This week’s Intimate Discovery: Two capital boutiques cater to quality
I usually don’t get an opportunity to visit lingerie shops located outside the NY metropolitan area. What a treat it was, then, to stop by two very unique, very different and very well merchandised boutiques when I traveled to Maryland this week to visit my sister and do a little sightseeing in Washington D.C. I was impressed at how well each store understood its customer’s needs. Yesterday, I dropped by the elegant Coup DeFoudre, founded in 2004 by Valerie Lucas and Francois David. The only bra fitting store located in downtown Washington D.C, Coup De Foudre is a destination frequented by the capital elite for its European designer brands that are known for their fit, design and quality. Very focused to its niche, this intimate gem has a specifically defined product base pampering women who seek tasteful finery beneath working attire.
Today, I had the privilege of meeting Cyla Weiner, owner of Sylene of Washington, a 36 year old intimate boudoir situated in tony Chevy Chase, Maryland and catering to a broad base of suburban women seeking assistance and quality selections in every category of Intimate Apparel. An industry expert, Cyla has forged Sylene’s into an institution acclaimed for its customer service, community awareness and breadth of domestic and international brands. Making every woman’s well-being a personal goal has enabled Selene’s to maintain a robust presence even though it sits among some of the biggest names in retailing.
Two quality boutiques with different profiles pursue the same critical goal: customer service at the highest level.
