Second Impressions
I love to read. Many authors are harbored in my home library; but Stephen King was never a resident until several years ago when I saw The Shawshank Redemption on television and learned that he had written the book. I had always assumed that King’s prolific output was anchored completely in the horror genre and that his popularity, certainly well earned, was due to such tomes as The Shining or Carrie. But after I saw the movie, I decided to delve deeper into King’s body of work. Subsequently, I read The Green Mile and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and relearned an important lesson; never judge a book by its cover. Now I am a fan of this fantasy fiction writer for whom my initial impression belied the depth and breadth of his craft.
When I first saw the Demi-Cami from Second Base, I could not figure out the point of another camisole being offered in the market. Even when Jenni Horn, designer and owner of the brand sent me a sample, I had my doubts. If it had not been for the extraordinary hand feel of the silky soft eco- friendly fabric in which it is constructed, I am not sure I would have even tried it on. After all, I have seen a lot of cropped camisoles meant to add a necessary layer of modesty to an outerwear look, but I have never found one before now that solves this problem without feeling like added bulk. However, this one, engineered in siro-micro modal and spandex, is opaque enough to cover my bra, yet light enough so that it feels invisible on my body. Pictured here is “Meredith” the tank top version. Available in 9 colors, it provides the finishing detail for a variety of outfits. Five separate styles make this solution cami popular with a bevy of consumers from petite to plus size. Add an instant basic to your underwear collection.
