Outta Here
It is October 1, 2010. My sister in law, Celeste died today at the age of 54. Cancer claimed her life.
The past few years have been a very poignant time for me. Cancer has sabotaged the lives of several people very close to my heart. Navigating the waters in this dark storm has taught me a grave lesson in confronting fear. This voyage has been life bending as I witnessed the courage and perseverance required defying this cruel disease. It commands a great deal of passion, and an enormous amount of discipline and dedication to stay the course. Every moment of time that can be salvaged while research and discovery provide hope where once there was none, prove that fighting is worth the struggle. I have had the rare privilege of learning what the possibilities are, how much it costs and why it is worth the effort. I say this because I am no longer afraid. Cancer can be confronted. Our greatest weapon is information. We must honor the courage necessary in the quest to survive. We need to commit ourselves to finding a cure.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, highlighting a form of this savage illness that is intimately bound to the world of Lingerie and the sense of wholeness that we work so hard to insure for every woman. And today, in the wake of the passing of my friend and sister in law, I feel compelled to honor her memory by paying homage to the b.tempt’d brand, the flirty younger voice of Wacoal, whose ten year efforts to raise funds to finance the research needed to defeat this awful illness means a great deal to me. Dedicated to supporting the battle to annihilate this deadly scourge, they continue to hold over 1000 events annually promoting their initiative to “Fight for the Cure”. This year b.tempt’d has launched a month long campaign to support the effort of The Susan G. Komen for the Cure® foundation. Partnering with Esmee Denters, the Dutch singing sensation, whose debut album “Outta Here” will headline this month long philanthropic initiative, b.tempt’d will donate $2.00 for every bra purchased in participating stores. This brand’s “can do” personality reflects the attitude necessary to conquer all forms of cancer. Thank you to all the Lingerie companies that contribute to this pursuit. It is a celebration of all that should be possible for woman.

I have never been into lingerie but I look forward to your blog every week. It amazes me that you can turn any and everything into underwear. I am a 4 time lung cancer survivor and have been cut up often in the area of my bra. Therefore finding something comfortable has been a problem for the last 18 1/2 years. As a result I read
with interest your description of the Wacoal Sports Bra. I decided to try it and it has all the features I need to be comfortable.
Thank you ever so much for mentioning Pampered Passions. We are so passionate about what we do for Breast Cancer Survivors and Dress for Success. I truly look forward to meeting you sooner than later!
