Last night was day one of Lingerie Fashion Week, in its second year of production and evolving quickly into a indie design hub as well as a dynamic runway platform for brands seeking press exposure. Held this year at Center 548 in the heart of Chelsea, NY, I decided to take a closer look at some aspiring designers searching for recognition as well as old friends, Tia Lyn and Laura Mehlinger, creator of Lola Haze. The always inspirational Secrets In Lace runway show, a feisty display showcasing Burlesque artist Angie Pontani serenaded by live music, definitely was a blow out success. Bradelais’s expose was a display of lingerie beauty. I particularly loved the newcomers Toru & Naoko, Gempicket, Bunny Blanc and Andre Ciccarelli for some interesting ideas.
