Sophia’s Journey ~ Le Mystѐre
One of my favorite books is the 1997 historical novel by Charles Frazier, Cold Mountain. The tale, as often been compared to Homer’s, The Odyssey as it tracks the journey of Inman, a Confederate soldier as he walks for months returning to the love of his life. Just as Homer spends 10 years travelling back to Ithaca, both characters, evolve into heroes as they rebuild themselves overcoming multiple obstacles on their way home.
In the world of Lingerie, this theme presents itself to me with Le Mystѐre, particularly with their coterie of Sophia styles. This is a story of a bra design whose early 2015 launch was so successful it has spurred the brands voyage back to its 25 year old roots. Le Mystѐre has regained market momentum after new management decided to return the company to its original foundation of fashion and fit. Now, as the Sophia collection moves into 2016, Le Mystѐre has secured a clear retail sale’s path establishing a lead role in the Intimate market. Beginning with the Sophia Lace Heirloom, and the Lace T-Back, and fitting 30-36, B-G cups, these bras offer the virtues of both cut and sew support as well as smooth contour lines. They are further enabled by the lightly lined memory foam cups that lift and support without padding. This fall, the addition of the bodysuit and hi-waisted shaper in 32-36, B-DD and S-XL, adds more stamina to the group. But the real arrival for me is the Sophia strapless coming spring 2016. After all, when I think of the Le Mystѐre heritage, this silhouette is always a destination.
