Tried, True & New ~ Love + Grace Cassie Pajama
By ELLEN LEWIS
After living in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for the past 5 years, last Spring I decided that I had to stop playing Spanish Charades and learn to speak the language. So, I hired a tutor with whom I not only studied in Cabo, but also continued to work with via SKYPE all summer while in the US. I really enjoy the discovery process as well as the satisfaction of breaking barriers through communication. New skills, new energy and new outlook: this is how I expand my horizons. I thought that my foundation in French would make the operation easier. Conceptually, the two languages have many parallels. This helped, but truthfully they are very different in tone, technique and style, making both worthy of acquiring. This confirms my belief that just because one has conquered one way of doing something doesn’t preclude pursuing another.
And that’s why I keep writing about Love + Grace’s Cassie PJ season after season. Every time owner and designer Julie Zipperer re-interprets this best-selling pajama, I think I can use another. The one that I own, which harks back to its 2013 launch, is still part of my sleepwear wardrobe, even here on cool nights. It’s a solid dark wine, very classic. The tie dye bamboo lava print, pictured here, and delivering shortly adds another perspective. It is still the same iconic shape: longer sleeves, tapered body, tilted patch pockets, and medium rise, fitting 7 sizes beginning at X-Small. And the Supima Cotton/modal fabric remains the core element of Cassie’s graceful fit. But it is the constant addition of distinctive prints that broadens the appeal of this pajama reinforcing the chemistry of the Love + Grace brand.
