The Unexplored Woman ~ Lise Charmel
By ELLEN LEWIS
Recently, I finished reading the biography, Georgia, by Dawn Tripp. O’Keefe is one of my favorite artists and the story of her life resonates in the current feminine culture. In this book we witness her creative force evolve as she struggles to stay her ground in a male dominated world. Her paintings, particularly her floral studies, were never intended to be interpreted as a female expression but rather her personal statement about color, form and nature. Like exquisitely wrought lingerie, elevated to its highest standard, O’Keefe’s art reveals the essence of the woman herself.
The Lise Charmel brand, and in particular the Baisers d’été collection, is a perfect parallel to the artist and the roots of her work. The group is designed with an exclusive Lise Charmel innovation, floral embroidery that is printed in a gradient. A brilliant range of colors ignites a silk canvas comprised of contrasting materials. Delivering in May, Baiser’s d’été includes 15 silhouettes; bras, panties and sleepwear ranging in sizes from 32-40, A-E cups and XS-XXL. Like O’Keefe’s need to recharge in the desert, these styles offer a chance to immerse oneself in the beauty of nature.
