Salute the Heroes: Spotlight Partner’s Standout Styles

The retail landscape has changed dramatically since I first entered merchandising, but the math behind sales analysis has stayed largely the same. Using the age-old credo that 80% of sales is often generated by 20% of stock, I challenged all of our Spotlight Partners to identify their current Hero Styles. For this showcase, I wanted ONE style that could be defined as a volume accelerator. Not always a simple task. For some brands, it’s a single silhouette; for others, it’s the synergy of a full collection or the nuance of varied product categories carving out unique lanes of business. Yet, despite these complexities, every one of the 20 brands in the Lingerie Briefs family met the moment, offering up the pieces that best embody both their identity and their retail success.

This is a great feature Ellen – I work with a lot of department stores and indies and find that without fail 80% of sales are in c 20-30% of stock – my job is telling them which 20-30% and what to do about it !
