When I first met Becky Yee, creator of The Beyond Pink Project, I was immediately drawn to the intention behind her work. Becky isn’t just taking photographs; she’s capturing stories, strength, and transformation. Her images stop time in the moments that too often go unseen. When you ask Becky about her project she says:
“As the creator of the Beyond Pink Project, an ongoing photo series, I strive to capture exactly this, lightning in a bottle. This project is about more than portraits of women and men on their journey in life as they navigate breast cancer. It’s about bearing witness, offering visibility, and honoring every phase of the breast cancer journey, from pre-mastectomy to flat closure, reconstruction to thriving with metastatic breast cancer. It’s about giving voice and image to stories that often go unseen.”

Kate (top) and Renisha (bottom) both wear the Carrie Bra and No-Show Brief – The Carrie Bra is a great, feminine bra that works for multiple body types. Reneisha has a breast implant, and the molded cups provide stability and balance for her asymmetry while Kate opted for an aesthetic flat closure to her surgery and the Carrie Bra offers pockets for her AnaOno Nikki Triangle F(-)(.)Bs
At AnaOno, we live within that same mission every day. Our community reminds us that breast cancer doesn’t define you, but it does transform you. And in that transformation, there’s beauty, resilience, and power. What Becky has done through Beyond Pink is illuminate that truth through the lens of art and humanity.
When Becky came backstage at New York Fashion Week for our annual AnaOno x Cancer Culture Show, she witnessed what we see year after year; a moment where the breast cancer community takes the stage not as models, but as living, breathing declarations of strength. As she beautifully reflected:
“Being backstage at New York Fashion Week for the AnaOno show was a profound and humbling experience. Surrounded by 24 remarkable women; previvors, survivors, and 8 thrivers living with metastatic breast cancer, I witnessed something truly extraordinary: a living, breathing embodiment of strength, resiliency, and sisterhood. These women walked with power not because they were untouched by pain, but because they had risen from it. Their scars did not diminish their beauty; they revealed it. Their energy was life-affirming, fierce, and joyful. Their presence was a declaration that resilience is radiant.” Becky Yee

Ngozi (top) and Cheryl (bottom) both underwent a unilateral mastectomy and highlighted the Rachel Molded Cup Bra on the runway. Both prefer not to wear a form on their flat side, and the Rachel provides full support of their remaining breast.
Beyond Pink represents the multidimensional journey that comes after diagnosis. It’s not one-size-fits-all. Some choose reconstruction; others choose flat closure, and some live with a unilateral body after a single mastectomy. Every path is valid. Every story deserves visibility. And every person deserves to feel supported, comfortable, and confident in their own skin no matter what their body looks like now.

That’s where AnaOno comes in. “Our mission has always been to meet you wherever you are in your recovery and in your self-love journey. From soft post-surgical styles that ease pain and protect delicate skin, to adaptive bras designed for implants, flat closures, or asymmetry, we create lingerie that supports healing from the inside out.”
