NUBE Lightwear: Sheer Lingerie for Every Size

For those who like their lingerie with a lighter touch, allow me to introduce you to NUBE (that’s Spanish for ‘cloud’.) With a website that proudly declares “bodies first, lingerie second”, it’s a one-person brand that celebrates owning your nudity through a collection of soft, sheer pieces that can made to measure in any size.
Justine Parisien originally founded the brand, which is also known as NUBE Lightwear, in 2022 in Montreal, Canada, but has since relocated to Valencia in Spain. Coming from a background in performative dance, she had been sewing and doing alterations for years when she took a course to develop her skills in lingerie design specifically.
Her goal with NUBE was to create slow-fashion lingerie that felt accessible, which made the wearer feel comfortable in their own skin. literally and figuratively. Focused around sheer pieces that dress the body but don’t cover it up, it’s a collection that’s all about empowerment and being unapologetically ‘you’.
The sheerness also lends itself perfectly to the trend for layering. Justine notes that many of her customers style their NUBE to be seen, whether it’s her popular mesh Tabi socks and stockings worn with sandals, or her versatile mesh bodysuits that can be worn over or under other garments in myriad ways.
My favorite designs are the ‘girdle dresses and girdle skirts’, one halter neck, one waist-high, and one with ribbon shoulder ties that can be worn overbust or underbust. They all feature fluted hip details, eight garter straps, and trailing ribbons that you can leave loose or tie into luscious, draped bows.
Other NUBE designs include soft, minimally structured bra sets, mesh leg harnesses, garter belts with a modern-meets-vintage vibe, and accessories such as ruffled satin cuffs and elastic-strap harnesses that add either romance or edginess to your chosen mesh look.
Although Justine mostly works with plain stretch mesh, there’s also a little lace in the range. She recently collaborated with print artist Marcablanca to create a capsule range of existing silhouettes crafted from mesh with whimsical, muted prints.
All NUBE lingerie is hand-crafted by Justine in her home studio, where she drafts a new pattern for every order to fit your unique measurements. Certain customizations, such as adding underwire, may be available on request. Prices for individual garments start from 25€ (approx. $30) for a thong, and go up to 125€ (approx. $150) for a ribbon-backed chemise dress with garter straps.
