Immagine Italia & Co.: A Lingerie Celebration of Italian Integrity and French Seduction

Last February, the 19th edition of Immagine Italia & Co. unfolded within the storied walls of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, a setting that never fails to frame lingerie as both craft and culture. Dedicated to the Autumn–Winter 2026/27 season, the show delivered a tightly edited, thoughtful curation of brands, predominantly Italian and French, with a strong and welcome emphasis on the plus-size market.

Italian Craft, Certified

Italian lingerie has long been defined by its reverence for detail: refined workmanship, exquisite fabrics, and silhouettes that whisper rather than shout. This season reinforced that reputation. Nearly every collection on view was made in Italy, underscoring a continued commitment to domestic production and artisanal integrity.

Brands such as Oscalito and Caramì have aligned themselves with the Italian Lingerie & Beachwear Association, reinforcing certified and traceable production. In a market increasingly concerned with provenance and sustainability, this is not just admirable. It is essential.

French Chic, Undeniable

If the Italians brought precision, the French delivered allure. Their collections infused the halls with that ineffable balance of chic restraint and seductive nuance that defines Parisian design. The dialogue between these two aesthetics, Italian discipline and French romance, gave the show its particular rhythm.

New Voices in Florence

Two brands chose this Florentine stage for their European debut, a strategic decision that speaks to the show’s growing international relevance.

Un amore così, the new label from Collezioni (former producer of Cosabella), introduced a nearly total-look collection spanning intimates to outerwear. Microtulle dominated, layered, fluid, and interpreted in multiple color ways as well as distinctive original patterns. The message was clear: Lingerie today lives beyond the boudoir.

The second, Maison Close, revisited heritage by acquiring and reimagining Scandale. The result, Scandale x Maison Close, restores the ultra-feminine codes that defined the brand’s origins, while infusing it with a modern sensuality, provocative, yes, but executed with unmistakable sophistication.

Looking Ahead

Immagine Italia & Co. is organized by Underbeach, the same team behind Maredamare, Europe’s most important beachwear event. The next edition, dedicated to Summer 2027 collections, returns to Florence July 18–20, again at the Fortezza da Basso.

In a landscape saturated by imagery and instant access, what remains compelling about a show like this is the edit. The intimacy. The tactile experience. Florence continues to offer not just product, but perspective, a reminder that lingerie, at its best, is a dialogue between tradition and reinvention.
