Hey there Intimate Insiders!  January and February were very busy months for the Lingerie Industry because of the trade shows and other exciting events taking place around the World…. From Paris to New York, from London to Las Vegas….  It was a non-stop Panty Party!  And then March rolled around and gave us all a moment to recoup.  But now….  We’re back at it!  Lots of good stuff happening in the Intimates World.  Here are a few quick Insights on Intimate Affairs…

The non-profit Intimate Apparel Square Club held its annual Easter/Passover Party last Wednesday at the RUSK Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center.  The IASC has been raising money for decades to support the “RUSK Kids.”   But they do much more than hand over a check to the facilities they support, members of the IASC (myself included,) make visits to the hospital to visit with the “Kids” that are struggling with life-threatening illnesses and disabilities.  The annual Easter/Passover Party is so heartwarming….  Seeing the Kids smile when they see the “Easter Bunny” is priceless.

In other news, Curvy Kate has launched in the USA.  This UK based full-busted newcomer has been making waves around the World with their innovative “grassroots” marketing and, most of all, their commitment to using amateur models….  Their “Star in a Bra” Model Search Contest launched here in the USA last Thursday.  If you’re full-busted, log onto www.facebook.com/CurvyKateUSA to submit yourself to be the very first Curvy Kate “Star in a Bra” USA Winner!  And I’m excited to report that Curvy Kate USA has tapped our very own Lingerie Briefs’ Celebrity Stylist and Author of The Bra Book, Jene Luciani, as the Curvy Kate USA spokesperson.  Keep your eyes and ears open as Jene (my # 1 bosom buddy) and I will be collaborating on a few things “Curvy!”

In case you haven’t heard, Wacoal Holdings recently acquired the UK based company Eveden Group.  Eveden is the parent company for well-known brands such as Fantasie, Freya, Fauve, Huit 8, Goddess and Elomi.  Eveden is recognized as a leader in full-busted and full-figure foundations and swimwear.  I recently picked up a bra-sized Fantasie Swim Top and matching Bikini.  I can’t wait to hit the beach with confidence this year!  I am very loyal to the Eveden brands….  Most of the bras in my boudoir are Fantasie and Freya.  So I’m very curious to see what happens!  I reached out to my friends at both Wacoal and Eveden, and they are both very excited about the acquisition.  Let’s hope the styling and fit don’t change.  I’d be heartbroken.
