Amour d’Agnette: Everyday Beauty that Fits Like a Dream
By ESTELLE PULESTON
Amour d’Agnette (previously known as Amour Caché) is an ethically-made, small-batch lingerie brand that was founded in New York in 2020 by best friends Agnes Zhan and Deean Yeoh. They met on their very first day at Boston University, soon discovering they had shared interests in entrepreneurship, fashion and shopping for good lingerie, and later going on to train in lingerie design together at FIT New York.
It was only when Agnes found a lump in her breast that she learned there weren’t many styles out there that catered to the post-surgery customer while still looking stylish. The experience also opened her eyes to how ever-changing a woman’s body is. The first product they put out was a luxurious Leavers lace bra designed for anyone, but pocketed so that it could be worn post-surgery.
The brand has since evolved into a collection of elevated everyday bras built on a sense of strength, resilience and inclusivity, and created “for all walks of life”. Above all, all bras are designed to deliver a truly perfect fit, one that’s comfortable, flexible, and enhances your natural shape. That means each new style undergoing up to 15 rounds of fittings before release, and product descriptions explain in detail which breast shapes each one is best suited for.
The printed and embroidered Stephanie bra for example is “perfect for bottom-heavy busts” thanks to the padding-free push-up effect of its dual-layer design, while the lacy Julie bra is highlighted as having a smooth, second-skin fit that will work with most breast shapes.
While the current, tightly-edited product range, which includes three key silhouettes in various fabrics doesn’t include any pocketed styles, it has still been created with post-surgery wear in mind. The Julie bra for example notes that it can be a good match for a triangular prosthesis, while the best-selling Kim bra is designed to be both a statement fashion piece that can peek out of a low-cut top, and a great post-lumpectomy option that will fit over a round prosthesis and conceal surgical scars thanks to its higher neckline.
Amour d’Agnette lingerie is produced at a BSCI-certified factory in Malaysia, using only OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabrics (meaning they don’t contain chemicals harmful to you or to the planet). Bras are finished using branded silver-tone hardware for a signature touch.
Bra sizing ranges from 30F or 32A through to 42DD, and up to a H cup in the newest, Swiss embroidery iteration of the Kim bra, plus XS-XXL for bottoms. Bras are priced from $80-90, bottoms from $36-56, and the non-cup-sized Kim bustier at $150. The brand is available online, and at a wide range of boutiques across the U.S. (plus a few further afield!).
