On The Red Carpet: The Strapless Bra I Never Thought I’d Wear

My daughter Maria, Reesy to me, got married last weekend. And yes, it was a Red Carpet affair. To clarify, I’m talking about the bra. For the first time in my life, I wore a strapless bra: Wacoal’s Red Carpet Strapless. Let’s be honest, I’m no spring chicken and I’m certainly not small-breasted. At 36G/H, the words strapless bra have never exactly inspired confidence. But this was my daughter’s wedding. There were photographs, dancing and a beautiful blouse that deserved to have its moment. Wacoal convinced me to give Red Carpet a try, and with considerable trepidation, I did.

Here’s my assessment: this style is a workhorse. Infallible. It lifts, supports and holds everything beautifully, yet somehow remains remarkably comfortable. Even with its substantial construction, I forgot I was wearing it which, for a strapless, that is saying something. And it’s convertible, too, with an impressive size range of 30–44 and B–I cups. No wonder it has remained on the industry’s best-selling bra list in the U.S. for so many years. It simply does what it promises.

As for me, I arrived at the venue at 3 PM, dressed and ready for my daughter’s big day. The celebration was beautiful, joyful and filled with non-stop music. And that Red Carpet? It stayed on for eight hours. Eight hours! I never once felt the need to adjust it, pull it up or sneak away to take it off. It’s never too late to try something new. Even a strapless bra. As usual, Wacoal proved the point.
