Inspiration ~ Simone Perѐle
Lately, between the impossible Northeast weather and some very challenging personal issues, I have been searching for some creative inspiration. So today, after an Underfashion Club board meeting, I decided to take the bus to the Whitney Museum for an art fix. With a few hours to spare, I commandeered my friend Camille ostensibly to see the Edward Steichen exhibit. Steichen’s groundbreaking lighting technique was a revolution in fashion portraiture. Bold images and strategic details define the vision. The Steichen exhibit was small so we segued to the fifth floor to see the Georgia O’Keefe collection. At the same time that Steichen was celebrating high fashion, O’Keefe was delineating a female mystique captured in sensual shapes and soft colors. Worlds apart physically and mentally, their symbiotic message announced a new era of femininity. Simultaneously, soft, audacious, and independent, the modern woman was becoming a major social force.
For weeks, I have been searching for a way to best describe Simone Perѐle’s new Inspiration Lingerie launching this month at retailers worldwide. And there embodied in the works of Steichen and O’Keefe was my metaphor. Gorgeous shapes, constructed of “insanely soft” lotion touch microfiber, these styles elevate the brand to a whole new level of functional expertise. Multi-position straps, 3 way for the plunge and 8 way for the strapless, allow these stitch free bras to fit women from 30-40, B-G and 30-38, A-F respectively. But, it is the way the designs capture the Simone Perѐle character; liberating, mysterious and incredibly beautiful that caught my imagination.
