Reflections

It is January 1, 2011, the birth of a new year.  Birthdays hold so much promise, each one a crossroad from reflection to expectation.   The holidays are over.  We are cleaning up from the aftermath and gearing up now for a much anticipated cycle of growth.  Putting away the fine china I have collected over the years, most of which was bequeathed to me from my parents, I am reminded of the power of familial memories and the impact they bestow on our daily perceptions.  My grandmother’s cut crystal bowl sits in my armoire, a visible recollection of my mother and the lemon pudding cake that she made especially for me on my birthday every year when I was young and living at home.  She always served it in this particular bowl, whose intricate design was enhanced by the multifaceted and richly cut glass that refracted the light, cradling the simple pudding dessert in a delicious and delicate display of brilliancy.

As finely cut crystal gives expression to glass, so does sophisticated design innovation articulate the essential quality of a fabric.  This is exactly what the Lejaby brand has achieved when they developed their best-selling Envie De Coton Collection.   Utilizing a modern laser cut  technique; they have created a unique and elegant guipure embroidery design that captures the feminine mystique of beautiful French lingerie.  Engineered in a double layered material , the glossy satin surface highlights the beauty of the cutwork while the 100 % plisse cotton design details and lining insure the comfort and support for which Lejaby is  known.  In sizes 32 – 38, B – E cups, the Corbeille uplift style (10032) shown here with the tanga (10061) is available in white and light amethyst, an augur of an early spring and the hope of renewed prosperity.

  1. Just catching up on entries I’ve missed and saw the beautiful Envie De Coton bra from Lejaby which we sell at our store, Tryst Lingerie in Toronto, Canada. I love that bra — it fits so well. Have you seen as well the brand Elixir which is now also under the banner of Lejaby? Gorgeous bras for the bigger-breasted woman.

  2. Wonderful article Ellen — I almost can’t believe how you were able to weave together the cut crystal bowl and the Lejaby bra — really inspired!
