Sexy Shaping ~ Chantelle Lingerie
When I am in Paris, if time allots, I try to sneak away to the Musée Rodin, for a moment of artistic reprieve. In fact, in the past, I mandated that my lingerie design team visit this beautiful sculptural enclave for inspiration. I believe that Rodin’s work is the perfect manifestation of the sensual form. One of my favorite pieces, Danaid is carved from a luminescent block of highly polished marble so that the subject’s body emerges from the stone and begs to be observed. Modeled with provocative undulating lines, the shape flows to the surface inducing a feminine landscape. Rodin was a modernist in his time, transforming the ordinary to the evocative without compromising the inherent underpinnings of the medium.
When the Chantelle Lingerie brand recently introduced their new shapewear initiative, Divine Proportion, I was reminded of Rodin’s seductive use of fundamental materials to reveal his subject’s essence. A concise collection of five basic silhouettes, these styles aspire to the aesthetic of the fantastical concept known as the Golden Ratio. They are expertly engineered in a quest to facilitate sexy shaping of the female torso. Carefully constructed panels are precisely positioned to affect the ebb and flow of a woman’s curves without sacrificing performance. Using a combination of gorgeous fabrics and its renowned technical expertise, Chantelle has managed to maintain its signature elegance while developing an entirely new vision of the original girdle. Offered in XS -XXL in both black and ultra nude, it is just in time for holiday dressing. Shapewear has been elevated to a new level of excellence.
