I always knew that I would own a beautiful boutique one day. With my background in fashion and beauty, and my love of shopping, I was destined to be a fashionista. My inspiration to go with intimate apparel came when I discovered some amazing lingerie boutiques that had a sophisticated ambiance, which made me want to stay in there forever. The fact that I had my own personal consultant to bring me styles and sizes that actually fit correctly, was shocking. I was hooked! Compared to my usual shopping venues of big stores with bright lights, and racks and racks of clothing all over the place, and no one to help you.
When I created La Femme Privée in 2009, it was with the intention of showcasing intimate apparel in a relaxing and comfortable way, with a little sexiness and glamour added in. It didn’t feel right to use standard retail racks and hooks, to display such beautiful and delicate pieces, so I had to think outside the box. The overall look of the boutique resembles a dream walk-in closet, with the dark ceilings and chandeliers adding to the glamour. Then I filled the boutique with the most beautiful pieces of intimate apparel, which includes bras, panties, pajamas, loungewear and bath & body products. Our labels include Elle MacPherson Intimates, Mimi Holliday, Christine Vancouver Silks, and With Love Lingerie.
Every time I walk into my boutique, I’m filled with such a feeling of satisfaction, knowing that I’ve created a unique destination for women. We are helping women feel more confident and self-assured. What better way to spend every day, than empowering women in a beautiful environment.
