On Trend ~ Graphic Blue Swimwear

I’m in a blue state of mind, but luckily for me, I left the country this week for a winter distraction in Paris. The city is full of hidden treasures like this amazing glass dome in the Printemps Department store. Maybe it inspired this season’s trend in swimwear, blue graphics. For those of you still ensconced in the ice and snow that is swallowing up a good portion of North America right now, it might be a good time to escape to a warmer climate. Blue skies and blue water are a salve for the soul. Maybe that is why blue is such a dominant color. And graphic prints command an appreciation for abstract thoughts. We are focused here on lingerie brands that have applied their expertise in fit engineering to bathing suits that are available up K cups. Why not find some respite. For sure, we all need it!

Ellen Lewis, Publisher of Lingerie Briefs: My merchant’s curiosity has taken me on a swimwear journey from the Miami Swim show to many shops whose robust businesses claim between 10 – 20% generated from swimwear. We began this swim column in order to highlight this potential. My research has led me to a very interesting conclusion: Swimwear is a fit business parallel to Intimates, but Swim stores and Bra Fitting stores approach the process in very different ways. Fit is priority, absolutely, in both venues, but the similarity really stops there.

KATRINA EUGENIA is a painter, photographer, writer, filmmaker, and New Yorker, from New Jersey, currently living in Union City, New Jersey. Katrina’s commercial painting collaborations specialize in live art for brands including Hugo Boss, Rag & Bone, Saks, Rebecca Minkoff, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Macy’s, and more. She is also virtual creative director and head of social for Christine Lingerie where she shoots and often models for campaigns, runs their social media platforms. In addition, she is a photographer and writer providing branded content specializing in skincare, boudoir, commercial real estate and architectural photography.
