Budding Talent ~ Lily Rouse, London

If you were a super fan of the show Sex & the City like I was, then you may be familiar with the following Carrie Bradshaw quote from the series finale: “I’m someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other-love”. How does that apply to this blog post? Just replace the word love with lingerie. It pretty much describes the type of work you will see from the soon-to-be-launched brand Lily Rouse, London. It may not be your basic underwear that goes with every outfit, but it’s incredibly special and completely essential to any fashion-lover.

Currently Lily Rouse is a concept collection by designer Georgina Lily Rouse, who is an honors fashion contour student at the London College of Fashion. It’s remarkable how evident it is that one’s calling should be in lingerie design. Her work displays a creative use of embellishments (you will see fishing flies on a particular bra), and technical achievements in fabric manipulation techniques and intricate details. The debut collection (featured here) will launch shortly in Autumn 2017, and will likely be a limited offering of couture pieces.In the meantime, start clearing out a special place in your lingerie drawer for Lily Rouse!
