Whenever I cover Commando®, I focus on fabric technology because it is the driving factor behind the brand’s ideology. Every category in the Commando® arena is born from its founder Kerry O’Brien’s research into global textile innovation as well as her perfect sense of consumer culture. For example, when we highlighted the Butter™ product line expansion in 2019, the industry was in high pursuit of sustainable options and Butter™ certainly fits the bill.
Already on an escalating trend before comfort commandeered our Covid lifestyles, Butter™ took off exponentially during the lockdown. Inspired by its stellar success, Commando® developed Butter™ Soft Support by applying a bonded fusion technology to this super soft breathable fine gauge, 4 way stretch, Austrian micro-modal. The collection, three easy, basic styles; a bralette, tank and bodysuit, are finished with raw edges, no threads, and no seams. These minimalistic silhouettes reflect a new direction in light shaping, as women reject constraint and seek smoothing styles that morph to their natural body shape.
