I hosted Bra La Mode’s “Let’s Get Intimate” Intimate Affair Trunk Show at VMV Hypoallergenics in NYC this past Friday, April 13th. It was a ton of fun dollin’ around with Erica and Courtney from Dirty Dolls Lingerie and Darlene Campbell from Campbell & Kate Classic Shirts. Free makeovers were offered while guests enjoyed champagne (lots of it) and other treats. See this great picture of “The Lingerie Goddess” Margaret Shrum looking “skintastic!” VIP gift bags were handed out and everyone that made a purchase received a gift card for a 30 minute mini facial and skin care consultation courtesy of VMV. Nailah Reid, manager of the VMV skin care boutique, said this was the most successful event of its kind ever held in the store.
The Underfashion Club is hosting “Shopping 2.0” on Tuesday, April 17th. Cocktails and Networking from 5:30-6:30pm and Panel Discussion on Ecommerce, Mcommerce, and Social Media platforms for Lingerie Brands & Businesses from 6:30-8:00pm. The Event is being held at the St. Giles Hotel in NYC and is moderated by Luis Paredes, publisher of the leading online publication, The Lingerie Journal, and panelists include Layla L’obatti from BTS Lingerie and Ken Natori from The Natori Company. This Event is open to Club Members and Non-Members…. But I encourage you to become a Member!
Reality Star and entrepreneur extraordinaire, Bethenny Frankel, has recently launched a new marketing campaign to promote her Skinnygirl brand Smoothers n’ Shapers. Bethenny and her friends modeled the line during a photoshoot at the famed MILK Studios. The Behind the Scenes video of the photo shoot was featured on the April 9th episode of Bethenny Ever After on BRAVO. Bethenny created the shapewear brand, Skinnygirl Smoothers n’ Shapers, for every woman & every body. Having the actual women in her life model her collection was the only truthful choice. Bethenny said, “Every woman is a Skinnygirl, no matter what size or shape we are!” The line is available at BareNecessities.com and the new summer collection will be available in select Macy’s stores in May.
Bra La Mode’s is having an Intimate Affair on Saturday, May 12th at Bra Smyth in NYC! It will be a “Celebration of Women” in honor of Mother’s Day including An Afternoon Tea Party (and champagne, of course) hosted by Chambre de Sucre Imported Gourmet Sugars and is sponsored by luxury French lingerie brand Simone Perele in collaboration with The Lingerie Journal. The Feel Your Boobies Foundation held its first ever “flash mob” at Union Square Park in NYC on Thursday afternoon. Volunteers and other supporters of the foundation, including Bra La Mode, showed up in the park with bags and bins of bras for donation. Bras were connected together in an effort to create the World’s longest “bra chain.” The event was held to promote the foundation’s mission to remind young women about the importance of proactive breast health. The Foundation focuses on using unconventional and unexpected methods to reach young women with the provocative reminder “Feel Your Boobies. Are You Doing It?”
Keep your eyes on Wendy Williams…. As reported last week, my bosom buddy Jene Luciani is now the national spokesperson for Curvy Kate USA and their “Star in a Bra” contest which recently launched here in the USA. Jene is taping a “bra makeover” segment for The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday April 25th. AND. I have been asked to model the Curvy Kate “Entice” Bra on the show! How much fun is that? I’ll keep you posted on the air date so you can set your DVR! You won’t want to miss it!
The latest industry news…. Eurovet , the world leading tradeshow organizer in lingerie and swimwear has acquired 100% of CURVExpo, the largest Trade show representing Designer Lingerie, Men’s underwear and swimwear In North America. Eurovet organizes the famous Salon International de la Lingerie (Fall-Winter Collections) and Mode City (Spring-Summer collections and swimwear) which take place in January and July in Paris. Interfiliere, the Fabric and Trimmings Show, runs simultaneously each January and July.
