Free & Easy ~ Eberjey
Could it be the salty air, ocean breeze
Or the beach
Nearby, I think
More than these things
It is the seagull soaring
She spreads her wings
Softly slips her feathered form through clear, cloudless skies
She is me
Elsewhere
A profile of freedom
I moved to the beach in the early 70’s while my friends were settling in Manhattan. No one could quite grasp why I decided on this hour long commute to work when I could be part of the dynamic world that New York City promises its youth. But I was hypnotized by the ocean and the lifestyle it cultivates. It nurtured my need for a simple and comfortable environment. Every day the city pulse fed my psyche, and every evening as I disembarked the train at the end of the line, the onslaught of sea air and the sound of the coiling surf took me to a place of tranquility and allowed me to come home to myself. I lived on the ocean for 30 years, and raised my children there, respecting its sanctity and its beauty. I became a connoisseur of its seasonal moods, acknowledging its persuasive power to provoke and charm. More than a temporary respite, for me, the bond between the sand and the sea is a metaphor of feminine resolve.
Life evolves, priorities change and so I left this seaside venue, but I often reflect about our time spent there. Whenever I see Eberjey’s Lingerie designs, I have a moment of Déjà vu for the cleansing ambiance of this ocean community. The Eberjey brand is an intimate metaphor of the soothing and casual intent that formed the foundation of my young family’s lifestyle. Pretty sleepwear that combines delicate laces and feminine flourishes with soft, flowing fabrics suggest easy elegance and gentle restoration. This chemise (S1030), part of the Dream Girls collection, is Eberjey’s number one selling style this season. Available in blush/ ivory or grey/ black, it recalls summer days lounging on sun drenched sand or the rejuvenation of the fresh cool sea. It is a gracious invitation to relax.

This article spoke to me as I too, live at the beach. The “real” Jersey shore is blissful & serene & refreshing; I feel blessed to live & have my boutique here. The Eberjey Dream Girls collection has been a big hit at Linger. The chemise in blush/ivory flew off the shelves. We went ahead and reordered the lounge set in grey/black. I agree with you , it seems like the perfect set to put on after a delightful, relaxing day at the beach.
