Water Induced Pleasure ~ Aire Ancient Baths

For my 8th month anniversary with my boyfriend; yes, we celebrate romantically every month, we indulged in a two hour session at the Aire Ancient Baths in Tribeca. We’ve been to several upscale and mid-range spas in NYC and agreed that our “intimate pleasure” experience was worth sharing and recommending.
Inspired by the ancient Roman, Greek and Ottoman baths, one feels like they have entered a magical world once you are escorted into the dressing room and given a locker bracelet where you can change into your bathing suit and put on the water/ lounge shoes and plush terry robe that they provide for all guests. The attendant will proceed to invite you downstairs to the candle lit baths and give you a brief tour and overview of the different pools and saunas they offer.What we noticed first, was that there were only a handful of guests, quietly enjoying the baths which were very clean and very luxurious.
You can book the baths for a two hour time slot where a maximum of 20 guests can use the space per session for only $75 per person. The baths consist of a 97F degrees warm water pool, a 102F degrees hot water pool, 2 cold water pools at 50F and 57F degrees, an aromatherapy wet steam room at 102F degrees, a large propeller jet bath at 97F degrees and our favorite, the salt water pool at 100F degrees where you can float in complete relaxation. We were able to leisurely cycle through all the baths before we were called in to our private room for our massages.
In addition to the baths, you can add on a 2-hand or 4-hand massage from 15-60 minutes to be completed during the 2 hour time slot. We both opted for 2-hand 60 minute massages in a candle lit room that we enjoyed side by side as our masseuses gave us deep and relaxing rub downs after we spent about 30 minutes in the baths. This left us another 30 minutes to repeat another cycle at the baths as we re-hydrated with water and tea that is available in the relaxation room as we sat on a warm slab of marble in our robes.
The massages are priced from $97-$315 and they also offer a selection of luxury rituals that include 210 minutes of bliss with your choice of red wine, champagne, olive oil or kerala which include a bath, facial and massage in a private VIP area for one or two people. These deluxe services range between $450-$550 per person, maybe we will splurge for our one year anniversary!
