Big debate before my son’s wedding: can we wear black down the aisle. I did, by the way. Or should I say, black and grey. Years ago, I remember hearing about a black and white wedding and thinking: so gauche! (It could have been all the black and white balloons released on the dance floor). But today, I have a 180 degree point of view. This could be very sexy, … Read More
I just saw the new Secrets In Lace campaign. Company owner, Dan Whitsett, a good friend, shared his current vision with me and as with much that he has done to build his vintage inspired brand, I was blown away. Admittedly, it has a lot to do with the photography and his focus on plush models who own their figures. It’s also about leveraging key items and integrating them into … Read More
I just returned from the Mode City Swimwear/Lingerie and Interfilière shows. If you have ever watched the movie Around The World In 80 Days, you might have some idea what my recent trip to Paris was like. I spent some time at Interfiliere, the major fabric exposition that is a destination for lingerie and swim designers worldwide. This show was more robust than in January. Major … Read More
This heat wave that has hit the Paris streets is unbelievable, but unlike the USA, nothing is air conditioned, including the Mode City Convention center where they handed out fans as we entered. I have to say that the extreme heat was not conducive to creative thought but I did manage to glean some useful direction.

With the thermometer hovering close to 100 degrees, the overwhelming theme in Paris this weekend is the weather and keeping cool. Couple the heat with the fact that the entire city just went on sale, and it’s not that easy to come up with any inspirational trends.
There are almost no new collections in the stores, but I did manage to see a few sprouts of emerging fall color, mainly … Read More
