A Mother’s Gift ~ Grenier
When I was a young teenager my mother taught me a very valuable lesson about friendship. I had just entered middle school and badly wanted to befriend a group of girls whose attention I could not attract. “Don’t try”, counseled my mom. Be who you are and if the bond is meant to be, it will abide. Focus on your own goals and pursue your own interests, as unrequited effort is distracting and often shallow in its fruition. It was such a relief to just be myself and in fact, within weeks those girls became fast friends. My mother’s advice was a gift because as I matured, I learned the difference between understanding, respect, judgment and adulation. My mother is no longer with me but her intelligence has informed all of my relationships, necessary or natural and afforded me the insight to know the difference.
I am always being offered samples of products to try, but none has made me quite as satisfied as Grenier’s soft cup “Easy Fit” full support bra. This is because I had the opportunity to finally pay homage to my friend Shirley, tireless backbone of this burgeoning blog, and to the friendship we have forged in the effort to make it successful. Despite the fact that Shirley is not particularly small, she dislikes underwire bras and laments to me often that she cannot find a bra to satisfy her shape and preference, so I sent her the wireless 8595 style, available in 5 colors for sizes 32 – 44, C – F cups. Her reaction: “Love this bra! Finally, a bra I can wear all day in comfort! So pretty too – I really like it!” was all the affirmation I needed. Maybe it’s the longevity of this family owned Canadian brand, or the traditional values that inspire the Grenier design ethic, but I believe that these styles address a product niche and enable a customer bond that many stores hold dear.

Ellen, our store Tryst Lingerie in Toronto, Canada also sells Grenier in our two locations. Sometime you should look at their incredible corsets. People wear them for all sorts of occasions from under bridal gowns to outerwear. Some look like they could come out of Gone With the Wind, and the others are really beautiful with ribbons and lace.
