Red, White & Blue ~ Freya Swim

Several years ago, on a family vacation in France, I took my history obsessed son on an excursion to Omaha Beach in Normandy.  His passion at the time was everything he could learn about World War II and the parent in me felt compelled to give him this opportunity.  Little did I realize the impact this memorial would have on my own familial vision.  Both my mother and my father served in World War II: she in the USA treating soldiers wounded in the Pacific, he in Europe at Supreme headquarters planning the Allied Invasion.  I knew this but never really understood the impact this experience had, not only on how they lived but also on how they parented me.  Each of their political perspectives, born from opposite sides of the pendulum, informed my youth.  Their sacrifices afforded me a chance to celebrate my childhood in relative peace.  Today is Memorial Day, traditional start of the summer hiatus.  Beach houses open, businesses shorten their work days, barbecues and parades announce the commencement of annual “down time” and we take a respite  from the trials and tribulations of winter weather and economic doldrums.  This year in particular, we need (and deserve) a holiday.

So today, I feel particularly inclined to wave the American Flag and am glad that Freya Swimwear has found a perfect metaphor with the red, white and blue underwire bandeau tankini (AS3110) and classic brief (AS3114) from the Paris Collection.  There is no doubt that the Freya brand has figured out how to balance a youthful vision with the security of comfort and value.  These bathing suits, available in 32 – 38, D – GG cups, serve the exigencies of fit with the pomp and circumstance that fashion demands.  Engineered with the fortitude of the famed Freya Lingerie construction, they are designed with parade worthy style.  Any woman would be proud to wear one.
