HAPPY NEW YORK NEW YEAR 2018

The Yule Log was on TV, had my cinnamon coffee, woke up in a good mood, was feeling thankful and reflective, and right on schedule…. it was Christmas Day.  Christmas Eve I was invited to a small dinner party where we dined on sublime brisket and exchanged Secret Santa gifts under 10$.  I got a Food Face dinner plate that was meant for me.  The apartment was what I call a … Read More

Luxury is, I believe, a matter of opinion. If you look in the dictionary, the definition moves between lavish material objects, sumptuous living and my favorite “a pleasure out of the ordinary allowed to oneself”.  To me, receiving a present that I might never buy myself, but promotes a feeling of personal joy is a real luxury. Even though I am not particularly a lover of “things”, there are items of pure opulence … Read More

Besides the exquisite sewing, the placement of the fabrics creates a perfectly balanced body canvas. Found on Facebook and posted to Instagram.… Read More

Bon-Marche
Maybe it’s because I wasn’t brain dead from jet lag today, but my intimate shopping experience produced a much better product reference than yesterday’s run through.  Personally, I think it’s because I went to Le Bon Marché, still in my opinion, the most cohesive presentation of Lingerie in Paris. The store, modern and sophisticated, is very “French”. Although they were very busy, particularly the Lingerie department, one never feels overwhelmed by the crowd.

Keepsakes ~ La Perla

2014-04-03-11.56

My first encounter with the essence of the La Perla brand happened during my Macy days when, on a business trip to Italy, my market rep, Gianna, took me to visit this company’s then family owned factory located in Bologna.  It is here where I witnessed firsthand the intricate and time consuming handwork required to perfectly position and delicately sew the exquisitely designed Leavers laces and embroidered tulle pieces that are the DNA of this … Read More

Huit & La Perla

I love balconette bras. There is no other bra style that can compare with its classic sexiness and shape enhancement. The literal translation of the word balconette is little balcony. Performers regularly joke about the theater’s balcony being the cheap seats, though there is nothing cheap about this extraordinary bra style.
