UntitledWhen I first saw the paper sculptures by Japanese artist, Noriko Ambe, I was overwhelmed by the way her art resembled the texture of a piece of fabric. The depth of the work was made more prominent by the patterns form by the contrast of light and shadow on the pure white surfaces.

Spring 2016 Lingerie Market wrapped up last week following a very successful Curvexpo New York show held at the Javits Center. I spent three full days there focused on mining the products that will matter to a retailer’s inventory, particularly specialty stores. Because there is so much to see and I live in New York, I wait to review the brands I can visit until after the expositions. That … Read More

If you have traveled anywhere else … Read More

Some years ago, at the end of June, I went on a mini-cation  to Nantucket with my oldest friend; I call her Buzz. It started a tradition we sustained for some years that excluded family and work obligations. Lucky for us that  particular week-end was blessed with perfect summer weather and we spent 3 full days bicycling around a rose laden  island to different beaches. Everywhere we rode, we came … Read More

Who is the Jane Woolrich bride? At first glance these exquisite lingerie pieces, all handcrafted in Jane’s atelier in the English countryside, might make you think of the traditional wedding trousseau. And, without a doubt they could easily be one of those special items packed away in a steamer trunk, about to make the honeymoon trip across the Atlantic at the turn of the century. But, look closer. In fact, … Read More
