Ripe With Passion

readingbookWhen I was a teenager, I was very taken by the work of D.H. Lawrence. I was particularly enamored by the novel Sons and Lovers and I fell in love with a passage in the book where Gerald schools Hermione on how to eat a fig. All of Lawrence’s poetic writing was ripe with passion. He said:

Metamorphosis

Monarch_Butterfly_000002isIt’s been raining all summer in the Northeast.  So when the sun broke through last week for two consecutive days, it was a pleasure to actually sit outside on my porch and witness a butterfly floating through the milkweeds.  The rainy weather has kept us cocooned since spring.

I visited the Premiere Vision Preview show in NYC last week.  The show was small and not particularly … Read More

Reinvent Yourself!

vintage jewelryI was rummaging through an old box of vintage costume jewelry the other day and was struck by how unique these pieces were.  I keep thinking how matronly I thought they were when my mother showed them to me years ago.  Now, they seem so interesting.   I  wonder how they might look pinned on a particular linen jacket in my closet.

I think the juxtaposition of the new with the … Read More
